Good God. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people use GOD as an excuse for them not being able to do something. I just spoke with someone who was late (i.e. not going to show up until over an hour after the scheduled time) and she had the nerve to say "I will get there when God wants me to be there."
Excuse me?? God is what is making you late? God wants you to waste my time and be over an hour late and make my other appointments run behind schedule? I am sorry but GOD wants me to be on time, so I had to cancel the appointment outright. I am sure God is busy with a bazillion other things going on in life than to take the time to tell you to be late.
Why in the world can't people simply take responsibility for themselves, or at least make up a good excuse like traffic or something else?
