This weekend will be 100% work free!! Some friends and I will be doing the casino / wine tasting thing this weekend. We are starting off with a singles mixer in Folsom tonight. I am both looking forward to it and dreading it. I have no idea why it is so hard to find someone to be with. I am not nearly as picky as I was in my 20's, yet most of the men I come into contact with have so much baggage that I shutter to think of another dinner with my date complaining about how his ex-wife took everything he owned.
A friend of mine (who will be with me this weekend) met a guy who swore he did not smoke and was athletic. Not only did he smoke (cigars) but he was 50 pounds overweight and preferred to watch sports on TV (they met through an online service). He told her "If I was honest about myself, you wouldn't have gone out with me." Nothing like making a good first impression.
Meeting people used to be so easy, and now I seem to find men who are:
married
have kids
live with their parents
strange combo of all of the above.
I have learned not to meet men in bars, because then you meet men who drink. What is a singleton to do?
